Devil's Punch Bowl October 13, 2012 10K and 5K Volkswalk
Whilst most of the rest of the country mourns the lost of Summer, Oregon's natural beauty is displayed in some of our driest (Mother Nature this is not a challenge!) and spectacular weather in October. Devil's Punch Bowl is a collapsed sea cave on the edge of the land where time, waves and wind have carved and caved the cliffs and sands. We'll have prizes, geocaching, places to eat, area for picnic lunches, socializing, and great company along with a walk both energizing and relaxing. Come get refreshed in the place where summer lingers last.
Walk surfaces are sand, pavement, and natural trails from Devil's Punch Bowl to Beverly Beach State Park and back.
Restrooms and water are available at the Start/Finish and checkpoint. Consider bringing a picnic. There is a small cafe and a coffee/ice cream truck on site.
This walk qualifies for Oregon's Coast Walk Challenge.
Geocachers take note: N 44° 45.625 W 124° 03.990 for Caches and Benchmark.
