Lincoln City Beach Walk 2019
Walk from the D River to Roads End for 10k then turn around and walk from the D River to Siletz Bay and back for the longest pure beach walk on the Oregon Coast. Walk a little or walk a lot year round.
Lincoln City is a favorite kite flying destination on the Oregon Coast and the beach is a great place to see the effects of wind and water. Winter seas can produce "sea suds," and the wind creates dunes, riffles, and utterly smooth surfaces as she pleases. Our northern 10k walk takes you from the "D" River to Roads End just past the Chinook Winds Casino with directions for a surface street return. The southern 11k takes you from the "D" River wayside to Siletz Bay and has no surface street return. While not suitable for wheeled conveyances of any kind, both routes offers a fairly level but strenuous 10k plus walk so are rated a 1C for surface.
(Walkbox unavailable as of 7/01/2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions at D Sands Motel. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for maps and directions)
Please do not attempt this walk during stormy or other high water conditions.
This walk qualifies for Oregon's Coastal Walk challenge.
